The eco energy program has been around for over 3 years now and has given thousands of home owners incentive to upgrade homes and HVAC systems. The program has been immensely successful but it really is just the tip of the iceberg.
There are so many reasons that home owners should move forward with energy conservation, including reduced energy bills and environmental benefits. The Energy Audit program aids this movement and helps home owners achieve these goals.
The eco energy program is still available for Ontario residents and is sponsored by the Provincial Government.
The cost for the initial audit is $325.00. There are some organizations that advertise a lower price of $300.00 but buyer beware, they can then tack on mileage charges and surcharges for the size of your home or supposed supplemental services. The audit should be one flat rate, no surprises. The Provincial Government will rebate $150.00 of this cost within 60 days regardless of weather you choose to implement any of the recommendations or not. So the net cost for the initial audit is $175.00
You will receive a comprehensive report and Energuide Label for your house within 4 weeks. At this time you should review the report and call your auditor if you have any questions. The recommendations in the report are just that, recommendations – you can choose to do all of them, none of them or some of them, it is up to you.
When you feel you have done all that you can do, call us for the follow up second visit and grant application process.
